Apollo/Saturn V Center

10/04/11

The Apollo/Saturn V Center at the Kennedy Space Center is a large facility featuring a real Saturn V rocket.  Each stage is separated and identified as visitors walk from one end to the other.

Visitors can also experience the control room as it was during the launch of Apollo 8.  The windows rattle as if there was a rocket launching outside.  Other items on display include a piece of the crawler-transport vehicle, an astrovan, and a lunar rover.

Kennedy Space Center is home to the orbiter processing facility, the vehicle assembly building, the massive crawlers that transported the Space Shuttle and external tank to the two launchpads, LC-39A and LC-39B, and was at the heart of the Space Shuttle program.

Epcot

Disney World’s Epcot theme park is much different from the Magic Kingdom. It is focused more on technological innovation and international culture. Part of the park is called the World Showcase, featuring pavilions representing eleven countries of the world. It is fascinating to walk from one culture to the next, watching performers showcase their talent and seeing different shops selling items relating to the culture.
