Remembering AYCJ: Day 20

09/27/11

The twentieth day of the AYCJ journey last year was spent in Portland, Maine and the White Mountain National Park. The coast of Maine is littered with a number of lighthouses. The Portland Head lighthouse is just one of them.

Remembering AYCJ: Day 18

09/24/11

The eighteenth day of the AYCJ journey last year was spent in Washington D.C., Annapolis, Maryland and Dover, Delaware.

On a tour at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the second US Mint I visited during the month, I got to see how paper currency is made. As with the mint in Denver, I really enjoyed seeing the process and was impressed with the scale of the operation.

Magic Kingdom

09/24/11

There’s something that’s just so magical about Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Is it Main Street, all the lovable characters we’ve grown up with, or the cheery music that makes you want to get up and dance? Whatever it is, there’s always someone with a smile.

Liberty Square Riverboat

09/22/11

One of the attractions at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is the Liberty Square Riverboat. The Liberty Square Riverboat is an authentic 3-tiered paddlewheel steamship journey that circles the Rivers of America with a scenic half-mile tour of Frontierland, Liberty Square and Tom Sawyer Island. Woodland animals, Native American villagers, a windmill, a railroad trestle, and a cabin can be seen along the way.
