Remembering AYCJ: Day 22

The twenty-second day of the AYCJ journey last year was started in Kennebunkport, Maine. You’ll have to read to the end to find out where I ended the day.

Heading back to Portland, there were some beautiful spots along the rocky coast to stop and take pictures.

I had planned to fly to Las Vegas that night, but due to a weather cancellation, there were no flights to New York, the only destination out of Portland that JetBlue flew to. Instead of waiting 24 hours for the next flight, I found out I could take a bus to Boston. In Boston, I would have a better chance of getting somewhere.

After a two hour bus ride, I arrived in Boston and approached a couple of, err, very talented (aka bored) JetBlue employees.

After removing extraneous tape from an oversized special package, who may have been named Katherine, they mentioned there was a delayed flight leaving for New York, which was a great way to get to Salt Lake City and back on schedule. I rushed through security and into the waiting area in time to discover that there would be a little more waiting around.

So where did I end up at the end of the night? At the end of T5 at JFK. My nice comfy bed (aka the floor of T5).

Would I do it again? Absolutely. That was some interesting improvising I did. I now fully appreciate how close the states on the east coast really are.
