About 700 years ago, Niagara Falls separated into three distinct falls, the American Falls, the Bridal Veil Falls, and the Canadian Horseshoe Falls.

Remembering AYCJ: Day 9

09/15/11 | On the ground

The ninth day of the AYCJ journey last year was spent in Denver, Colorado. I was always fascinated with how money was made and used to play with Monopoly money as a kid, creating games that revolved around money. So it was pretty cool to visit the US mint where they create currency. I will never forget seeing all those shiny pennies everywhere I looked. It shows just how much is taken out of circulation (both by damage and different forms of collecting) and that needs to be replenished.

A birthday card from Southwest

09/15/11 | Unexpected

Today I went to my mailbox like any other mail delivery day. Usually there are bills, ads, and more ads. Did I mention ads? Except, today was a little different. There was this envelope. Thinking it was another offer for a credit card from Southwest Airlines, it was put at the bottom of the pile.

New York sites

Though I’m not sure that I would want to live in New York City, the city does have a lot to offer. Aside from the numerous tourist traps, which there are quite a handful of, the city demonstrates how efficient a city can be. From all the taxi cabs to the countless subway lines, people can get around rather easily. That may not be true all the time, but it looked like it for the few days I spent there. Here are some parting photos of New York.

Today Show

Back in 2007, the Today Show on NBC added a fourth hour to their morning show with co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. I had the opportunity to sit in the audience when they had their show outside in April 2008. Richard Simmons made an appearance and was available for photos. Here are a few photos of their opening segment and of the set.
