Long Beach’s naval history dates back to 1908 with the arrival of President Theodore Roosevelt’s 16-ship Great White Fleet. By the 1920s Long Beach established itself as a major naval installation on the West Coast. For the next eight decades, it was home to sailors and shipbuilders, battleships and aircraft carriers.

JetBlue has added a few new routes to the list of places one can travel to since AYCJ. I’ve been thinking about where I would go if the pass is offered again this year (alumni have their fingers crossed), thanks to some chatter from fellow AYCJers.
When I think of Alaska, I think of snow, cold, and ice, so cold that cars don’t start. I’m probably completely wrong about that, and this would be one spot on my itinerary. I hear there’s gold in Alaska!
In the middle of a short walk between the Temple Square and the State Capitol building was the Brigham Young Historic Park. The park is a representation of the lives and industry of Brigham Young and the early pioneers.
One of the things I really enjoyed about Chicago was how it looked at night. With the river passing through between towering buildings and bridges crossing over it, taking a walk around at night was a very relaxing activity. The reflections from the lights of the buildings on the water is quite fascinating.
Replacements, Ltd. is a privately owned company located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Their showroom is the showcase for owner Bob Page’s customers to visit and enjoy first hand the extensive inventory that is available to purchase. The company has the largest inventory of discontinued china, crystal, and flatware in the world.
The thirteenth state capitol I visited was in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The state capitol opened on October 4, 1906, replacing the first that was destroyed by a fire in 1897.
Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Utah is full of monuments, statues and tributes to the Church of Latter-Day Saints.
