Today was another morning of wildlife roaming through the campground on the South Rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. However, I didn’t see baby deer this morning.
Driving out of the campsite, I came across these two creatures enjoying the quiet morning. The little one was bouncing all over the place, but stopped long enough for a photo.
It was another warm morning at Colorado National Monument, 77 F at 6:30am! I enjoyed the sunrise from Otto’s Trail.
Nature sure has a way to wake you up early when you camp. Light shining into your tent, early in the morning. Birds chirping. But I wasn’t too upset when I got to see a beautiful sunrise in return.
While the past two days were a blast with fireworks, it is time to move on to the next National Park, Colorado National Monumemt. On the way, I spotted a wind farm.
This morning I headed over to Murray City for a good old fashion Fourth of July celebration, which they call Fun Days. While my hometown had a full day of activities like this, it was really cool seeing the community come together.
On the performance stage, an improv group had the audience laughing.
My short time at Great Basin National Park ended this morning. Before I left, I spotted a family of birds nesting in the rafters of the visitor center.
Then I headed east. Only a few minutes outside the park is the Nevada-Utah state line.
Starting off the second day here at Great Basin National Park, well…Maybe I should have locked the car last night?
I woke up early to get a early start. In fact, even before the sun rose. I captured the beautiful light from the sunrise on the nearby mountains.
