I visited two rose gardens on my trip around the country on the All You Can Jet pass. The first was the International Rose Test Garden in Portland, Oregon. The second, the Maplewood Park and Rose Garden, in Rochester, New York. It didn’t matter which side of the country they were on, each rose offered a unique fragrance, a beautiful sight, and their own story.
During my visit to San Diego, I took a little walk along the harbor. As part of an exhibit from the Port of San Diego Public Art Program, there are pieces of art placed along the harbor. Here are pictures of a few of them along with the name of the artist.

Where there is water, there is often a bridge that crosses over it. It was interesting to see the engineering of the bridges across the United States and how each operated slightly differently from the previous. Some charged tolls, others didn’t. Some raised as a whole or split in half, others stationary. Some operated without a glitch, others got stuck. Here are a sample of the bridges that I saw during my month of travel.

Fall was just beginning to change the colors on the leaves when I visited the northwest and made for some beautiful scenic views. Here are a few photos taken in White Mountain National Forest at the end of September.

Sometimes a photo is worth a thousand words. Or a snapshot in time of a good or bad event. Then there are those that you have to stop and look at again. Here are a few photos to ponder over.
Flying across time zones all month long and on a couple of redeye flights, I got to see some beautiful sunrises and sunsets, both from the ground and from the air. Here are a few I captured.
A friend of mine asked that I take pictures of any flags that I saw on 9/11 in New York while flying on JetBlue’s All You Can Jet pass. I thought this was going to be an easy task until it became a challenge like those picture puzzles where you find differences between the two. There were so many flags of varying sizes in so many different places, I had to sit down and carefully look for them all. It was a fascinating game that I would not have tried without the suggestion.
