Bridges
Where there is water, there is often a bridge that crosses over it. It was interesting to see the engineering of the bridges across the United States and how each operated slightly differently from the previous. Some charged tolls, others didn’t. Some raised as a whole or split in half, others stationary. Some operated without a glitch, others got stuck. Here are a sample of the bridges that I saw during my month of travel.
Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, New York
Fremont Bridge, Portland, Oregon
Sagamore Bridge, Sagamore, Massachusetts
Joseph A. Scapelliti Memorial Bridge, Lockport, New York
Driving Park Bridge, Rochester, New York
Pattonwood Bridge, Rochester, New York
