This morning’s session at Manos gave our teams a quick overview of assets that our companies can have that add value.

Carlos Rosario talked about patents and the value they add to a company’s worth.

Tonight we went to BlackBox’s mansion in Atherton.

This afternoon we were invited over to Google to play with Google Glass.

Sleek-geek was invited to pitch at the Bay Area Capital Connections Conference with four other startups. The conference was held in the Kaiser Convention Center in Oakland. Co-chairman Mike Gunning, of the Alliance for Community Development Board, kicked the event off.

Today Jose Florido came in to talk to us. He is a UX designer and entrepreneur from Spain. He started his first company, a web design studio, in 2002, worked with a Cuban friend on Loquo.com, a craigslist clone for Spain in 2004 and sold in 2005, and started Panoramio.com, which was sold to Google in 2007.

Steve Cadigan came to give us advice on HR. He is a coach, speaker and adviser with over 25 years of leadership and executive experience in the field of HR. He has practiced HR across Asia, Canada and the US, including over ten years of experience living and working overseas.

The Fog Fest festival in Pacifica is this weekend. Usually too busy to attend, today I managed to find a parking spot blocks away and braved the crowds. The weather was not foggy at all, but rather sunny and cool.

Sebastian Cabrera stopped by today to talk with us. Sebastian is from Bogotá, Colombia and is driven by the dream of creating a lasting positive impact in the Hispanic community. He is an active volunteer for the Hispanic Foundation of the Silicon Valley, the Economic Empowerment Fund and a mentor for the Peninsula college fund. In 2012, he started Optimumtempus.co, a company which features frames by independent designers and fits them to order with prescription lenses.

Today the teams from the Manos Accelerator went to the LISTA conference held at nestGSV in Redwood City.
