A wet morning, a beautiful afternoon
I went up to San Francisco today for another race at the America’s Cup. It started out very wet.
Because it was raining so hard, only a few diehard fans sat on the edge of the water reserving their spot for the race.
It rained on and off. One of the boats came close and showed off how big the buoys are that mark the gates on the race course.
Mother nature unleashed a huge downpour leaving anyone outside completely soaked.
The winds weren’t very strong and officials delayed the start of the race. As time passed, there was word that there was only going to be one race. The teams went out to the start line and ended up waiting for over an hour.
The clouds broke up and the sun came out to dry and warm up the spectators.
As soon as the rain stopped and the weather changed, the crowds at the edge of the water swelled.
At about 2:35 the race was called off when the winds reached the wind limit, the opposite of having too little wind earlier.
The teams did a practice run before flying by the spectators who had patiently waited.
As I walked about the park, I spotted some reflections in the puddles on the ground.
Watching past the KidZone, I noticed a room that I had never noticed. It is sponsored by the OneSF. Inside are sofas, a ping pong table, and a mini-golf setup. I found the ping pong game rather fun to play with my friend.
On the way back to Caltrain, the Bay Bridge looked beautiful against the puffy clouds in the distance.
As night fell, the lights that are part of an art installation twinkled and gave the brain a moment to zone out and gaze at the different designs.
What started as a dreary and miserable day ended with a beautiful evening sky. It only took a little patience and an open mind for things to change.
