Weather
Traveling around the country for thirty days offered a number of different climates to contend with. There were the cloudy days, the drizzly days, the rainy days, the clear days, the extremely hot days, and the freezing windy days.
What did I pack that helped with the variable weather?
- A windbreaker
- A fleece jacket
- A sweatshirt
- Shorts
My fashion skills are basic and whatever I pulled out of my bag was what I wore that day. The most I layered was in Augusta with a windbreaker and my jacket. I would have been set if I had included some gloves for my 8am adventure to take pictures of the state capitol.
When visiting Dover, Delaware, I pulled out a pair of shorts. It was over 90 degrees that day.
Two things I packed for the extremes that I never ended up using were an emergency poncho and a swimsuit. Most of the swimming pools in the hotels I stayed at closed the pools for the winter.
Overall, having options and being flexible throughout the day was the best approach. Having my bags with me most of the time made changing easy and quick.
