My visit to Burbank, California was quick. I went for one reason. To see the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I grew up watching Jay Leno as a kid. Afterwards, Conan would come on with his “In the year 2000…” skit. By that time I would be pounding away on the keyboard creating a website with my imagination going wild.

That was many years ago, and now only Jay Leno is still on the air. So when I saw that JetBlue flew to Burbank and it wasn’t too hard to get to the studio, I sent in a request for one ticket to the show. A couple of days later I received a response and I was set.

\n

I drove to the security gate where I asked the guard where I was suppose to go. He misunderstood my question as to where would I go to get a ticket to the show.

During my visit in Hartford, Connecticut, I stopped by the Cathedral of St. Joseph.  The outside is very large, but when you step inside, it is full of colorful stained glass with a tall ceiling.  Here are a few photos of the beautiful cathedral.

The seventh state capital I visited was in Hartford, Connecticut. After eight years of construction that cost over $2.5 million, it first opened in January 1879.

Richard M. Upjohn designed the capitol with a High Victorian Gothic style, the exterior consisting of marble from East Canaan, Connecticut. The granite came from Westerly, Rhode Island.

Tiles are used for all different parts of the world around us.  From walls to floors to doorway trim, our world is filled with patterned tiles like the ones below.  Some are natural, others are man-made.  But each one was laid by a skilled person.

I guess I don’t live in a popular tourist attraction or somewhere that people visit and want their picture taken in front of. So when I was travelling around the country, it stood out to be asked by random people to take a picture of them with their camera.

They asked a complete stranger! Forget about handing over a piece of equipment that costs at least a hundred bucks, if not more, and trusting they won’t just run off with it (it must happen), or worse drop the thing (broken lens, ouch!). But then you have the composition aspect to taking a photo. Some people have no idea how to take a picture. They are thrown into the spotlight to learn where to “press the button” and other aspects of the unfamiliar camera in 15 seconds or less. Sure, it’s not that difficult once you get the hang of it how a camera works, but you’d be surprised.
