NASA MSL Tweetup Day 2

On the second day of the NASA MSL Tweetup, we reported to the press site at 6:15 am. For those who got to the security gate early, we were turned away until exactly 6:15.

Today we got to see some celebrities like Bill Nye the Science Guy, Doug Wheellock, and Will.i.am.

There was definitely a sense of excitement among the tweeps before these guys showed us in anticipation of the launch of the Mars Curiosity Rover at 10:02 am. People sat on the floor in the center aisle just for a great shot of the speakers.

As the minutes ticked down, and a weather stop cleared up, it was unbelievable how 150 of us got to attend this awesome event. The rocket went up without an issue and the crowd went wild.

Good luck monster rover! I’ll be following you all the way to Mars and throughout your mission. You’ve got 14 years of life in you!
