Remembering AYCJ: Day 12

The twelfth day of the AYCJ journey last year was spent in Lockport, New York at Lock 34/35 and Rochester, New York.

After two early morning flights (#14 and #15) from Burlington, Vermont, I landed in Buffalo, New York.  On my way to Rochester, I stopped at Lock 34/35 and watched boats of various sizes pass through the locks. I observed the generous assistance of one boat to another when they failed to tie up and literally got turned around.

In Rochester, I ended the day by walking through a rose garden and over the RG&E Station 5 Dam. The amount of water flowing out of the dam was impressive.

If things weren’t eventful enough, a bridge in Rochester was stuck open for much of the afternoon and into the evening.
